Bare Bones plays the Water 1st Beer 2nd Event

Original song written and performed

Bare Bones performed at the Water 1st Beer 2nd fun(d)raiser in March, donating their time and talents for the evening. The band played a variety of songs from folk, to country to good old rock n' roll.

People got up and danced and sang along and at the end of the evening, everyone was treated to a great suprise. The band sang an original song which was written just for the occasion entitled, What Made the Pyramid Alehouse Famous. We've included the lyrics to the song below, and if we can get the band to record a copy for us, we'll load up the MP3 for your listening pleasure.

Many thinks to Bare Bones for the great music and their support for people in need of safe drinking water.

What Made The Pyramid Alehouse Famous

It’s late and she is waiting, and I know I must go home,
But every time I start to leave, they play another song,
Then someone buys another round and all the drinks are free,
What made the Pyramid Alehouse famous has made a loser out of me.

Baby’s begged me not to go, so many times before,
She said love and happiness can’t live behind a swingin’ door,
Now she’s gone and I’m to blame, too late I finally see,
What made the Pyramid Alehouse famous has made a loser out of me.

She said love had to come first – and beer should be 2nd
She really begged me not to go, but I never reckoned that
I’d get the blues from microbrews, but now I finally see
What made the Pyramid Alehouse famous has made a loser out of me.
What made the Pyramid Alehouse famous has made a boozer out of me.

If I’d quenched my thirst with Water1st, she’d still be here with me.
So: quench your thirst with Water1st, and donate generously.
