The Northwest Academy supports Water 1st

Water 1st visited the 8th-grade social studies class at The Northwest Academy in Portland, Oregon, where students were studying clean water deficits and life in water-scarce communities.

After watching the Water 1st DVD, students learned why it’s important to involve communities in projects, how Water 1st chooses local partner organizations, and how projects are customized to suit the climate, landscape, and culture.

Global Water Crisis Forum

Water 1st hosted an information booth for a student forum held at the NW Academy. The school's 8th-grade class had just spent several weeks studying different aspects of the global water crisis during a collaborative science and social studies course. The 'Global Water Crisis Forum' was the students' opportunity to showcase what they had learned to parents, teachers, and the general public.

The Water Challenge booth invited attendees to participate (for a small fee) in a blindfolded taste test of bottled vs. tap water. All fees were donated to Water 1st!
