Meridian Students Raise $1,200 for Water 1stStudents' cards hand-delivered to Ethiopia in JanuaryTeachers at Seattle’s Meridian School have incorporated Water 1st’s message in their lesson plans for the past two years. Last year, third-grade students made block prints about water, which were showcased in an art show at the University of Washington. This year, the entire school is studying Africa and third-graders are studying Ethiopia in particular.
Students learned about the water crisis in Ethiopia and what Water1st is doing to affect change. The third-graders created beautiful cards which were then hand-delivered to two Water 1st communities in Ethiopia this January. The students also decided to sell their own uniquely decorated bottled water to raise money for Water 1st projects in Ethiopia. They raised $1,200. Thank you, Meridian School!
