Kirk AndersonDirector of Foundation Relations and Major GiftsAs a Peace Corps Volunteer in Southern Africa, Kirk became aware of the many needs and challenges facing people in developing countries. His observations and inquiries led him to the conclusion that lack of clean water was the critical first step toward increasing a community's quality of life. Upon meeting Marla Smith-Nilson in 2000 and learning about her work, Kirk became an enthusiastic supporter. He served on fundraising event committees in Seattle, led by Marla Smith-Nilson, from 2001 to 2004. He then joined the Board of Directors of Water 1st in 2005. Kirk is excited to be part of the staff and devote more time to help the world's poor meet their most basic need: safe water.
